The Ipswich RFC Colts programme brings together players from both the U17 and U18 age groups, forming a vital part of the club’s senior playing pathway. This season, we’re proud to be running two full squads, a testament to the growth, commitment, and enthusiasm of our players and coaching team.

Whether aiming for high-level competition or enjoying the social side of the game, our Colts setup offers a supportive, challenging, and inclusive environment for all.

Coaching & Support Team
The Colts are now led by Head Coach Josh Barton, supported by:
- Tiff Ransome– Team Manager
- Henry Gaskin – Assistant Coach
- Jon Rodriguez– Assistant Coach
- Trevor Clark – Assistant Coach

This experienced team ensures continuity, development, and a positive experience for every player. The Colts also benefit from the wider club coaching network and performance support, including strength & conditioning and sports psychology, helping players grow both physically and mentally.

Pathway to Senior Rugby
The Colts programme plays a key role in bridging the gap between junior and senior rugby. With two full squads, we’re able to offer tailored opportunities for players at different stages of development—whether they’re pushing for senior selection or building confidence in a competitive but supportive environment.

We compete in the Colts Conference, drawing from teams across the Eastern Region, as well as the Eastern Counties Cup and National Cup. Our goal is to be competitive in every fixture while maintaining a fun, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere.

Training Schedule
Training takes place at Humber Doucy Lane, alongside the senior men’s squads:
- Tuesday: 6.30pm
- Thursday: 6:30pm
- Sunday: 11:30am (when no matches)
