This fantastic achievement for the Scorpions comes after only 3 years since our women's side first formed. The team has grown in numbers, skillset, confidence and team spirit over their time together and now under the guidance of coaching staff Drew Fautley and Harvey Clements.

The Scorpions finished the campaign with a 12-55 win against a solid Southwold side on Sunday. It meant they are unbeaten in the league all year, winning 14 out of 14 fixtures and having scored 624 points and conceded only 90. This resulted in an outstanding points difference of 534.

Growth of our women's and girls' section
The focus this season has been bolstering numbers to ensure the Scorpions could go a step further and top the league, after finishing respectable 2nd and 3rd places in the prior two seasons. They've had great success in this area with 18 debutants, fielding at least 20 players every game and presenting the coaching team with the difficult task of having to select a 22 player squad from 40+ members. This includes a number of players who have stepped up from our Athena's girls section into women's rugby.

It has been amazing to see women, some of whom have never played rugby in their lives, living and loving the rugby ethos.
