Best Performance of the Season give U16s a Great Win at Diss

Against the run of play in the first 10 mins Jake skipped down the wing and scored in the corner – Diss then scored 2 unconverted tries both out wide on the righthand side. Tom then crashed over from a penalty converted by Adam – half time 12 to 10.

Second half Adam scored two beautifully worked team tries both converted.

To me and I am sure to the rest of us the best thing was the team spirit and commitment particularly in defence – to keep a clean sheet in the second half against some strong big running Diss boys was truly fantastic. Our line out worked wonderfully well with I think only 1 lost on our throw and that was because we dropped it but at least half a dozen taken against the throw. A couple of dropped passes in the backs but generally the handling and running was great. As the game went on rucking and mauling continually improved as borne out by Diss not scoring in the second half. The only area we struggled was, as always, the scrum but again I think we only lost one on our put in and that was because Ed hooked it too sweetly and it bounced back off the second rows legs.

Overall a fantastic all round game that the boys can be very proud off.
