The U11s took one squad to Mistley on a grey Sunday morning to faces hosts Mistley (teaming up with Harwich) and a squad from Mersea Island.

The first match was against the combined Mistely and Harwich team. Ipswich were quick to score with early tries from Tomos, Neo, Ewan and Cameron. Ipswich continued to apply pressure with strong runs from Bryn and Frankie proving to be a constant nuisance to the opposition, ripping possession at every opportunity. Further tries from Tommy, Oliver, Leo, Mason, William and Daniel together with a strong team defensive effort saw Ipswich come away with a comfortable 10-2 win.

After a short break to get their breath back and take on some water, the squad faced up against a stronger Mersea Island team. Competition at the breakdown was much fiercer than during the first match as the teams traded early scores. Tomos and Lincoln both crossing for Ipswich early on. The defensive effort from the team was impressive with everyone getting their tackles in with some spectacular try saving tackles from William and Mason. Strong work at the breakdown, in particular from Tomos, Lincoln, Neo and Isaac starved Mersea of any quality possession, restricting them to 2 tries. Further tries came from Tomos and Neo, who crossed for the final try of the match after a fantastic offload out of the tackle from Daniel. The score finishing at 5-2

All in all, an impressive performance and the boys can look ahead to Southwold's visit next week with well deserved confidence.
