Ipswich RFC U13's first home game of the season saw the Bees playing an unusual Saturday fixture. The game had been scheduled as a warm-up game on the first team pitch before the first XV played later in the afternoon.
West Norfolk arrived with a fearsome reputation as the best team in the region, and sadly on the day, the Bees were no match for the boys from Kings Lynn. West Norfolk were well drilled, disciplined and physically more developed than our boys, who put up a valiant fight but were no match for them in the end. It was encouraging to see some spirited performances from a couple of players, particularly Max Price, Theo Perkins and Kyle Owen who kept going to the bitter end and showed good leadership. They can take heart that there won’t be many days as hard as this one.
