A wonderful day at Wymondham rugby club today meeting up with old friends and making some new ones in Marlow. The sun shone, the BBQ sizzled and I think everyone enjoyed watching all our boys put together some great passages of play.
Marlow 10 v 10 Ipswich Gold (Seth, Alex)
This was a game we drew but I’m sure the boys felt like we’d lost. For me though it felt like we’d won because we we showed so much heart and desire in this game, I really do feel that this group has turned a corner. And whilst the boys probably felt like they’d lost as I said, for me that says they really have turned that corner. We still need to work on our choices and our execution but today the boys grew in strength and power as the morning played out. Seth and Alex got the tries. Both had excellent days as did others.
Wymondham 0 v 20 (Matt, Alex 2, Aston)
The win against Wymondham saw this group top the mini group along with Marlow who also beat Wymondham. That in itself is great result for these boys against two decent sides. We made better choices in this game and our pace, power and strength was outstanding. The aggression levels were so nice to see. Matt, Alex with two and Aston got the tries. Nick was on the end of a ridiculous challenge and we wish him a very speedy recovery. The standout moment in this game was the run and offload that Joe made to give Alex the simplest of tries.
Well done boys. Great mornings work. Now lets get ready for Sudbury.
