A lovely day at the seaside (for those not at A&E).

A solid start, securing the opening try within 10 minutes. I don't know exactly when it started to go awry, but can probably pin it to around the time that we lost Henry Gaskin to A&E and had to remove George Ray 5 minutes later for suspected (most definite) concusion. And the injuries continued... Trevor Clark received a sizable blow to the head, Connor Danielsen removed himself from the pitch after being subjected to a flying high tackle, Kai Danielsen fancied a breather after his elbow gave in and Jez Holmes limped along after being on the receiving end of a deliberate stamp, which resulted in a yellow card to the opposition. Richard Townsend battled through a severe blow to the leg, which prompted a delayed A&E visit on Monday morning, revealing a torn thigh muscle.

A reshuffle of the team put most men out of position, as I moved from centre, to fly half, to No8, back to fly half, and the back line were pulled in and pushed back out again.

There was a solid presence in the back row, with Kai Danielsen working hard to get Duncan John some clean ball from the back of the scrum, and trying to relieve the pressure from the back line. Callum Cook's performance was stand-out, with some strong running and excellent defense from the flank.

Brian Barnard's game at full back was unfaltered, and gave us some breathing time as their No10 kicked every ball he received. Gotta feel a bit sorry for their No12, who didn't look like he was going to get much of a game.

Despite the mid-game shenanigans, we powered through and played the last 15 minutes in the same vein as the first, securing the last try of the game via a late run from Jacobs in the corner. With a two man overlap it could have been anyone's try... no, wait, Jacobs doesn't pass, so it was only ever going to be his!

A tough day at the beach, but a solid effort from everyone, right until the final whistle.

Well done lads.
