Well, what a phenomenal 70 minutes!! A small slip up for 10, letting in 4 tries before taking a breath, but c'est le vie, we live and learn.
As for the the better proportion of the game, we absolutely stormed them.
Connor lead the way with the try count, and hammered over a good few points with his boot. We perhaps shouldn't mention the first conversion attempt from Ollie... this sentence is longer than the distance the ball travelled!
Mr Parnell made his Mighty debut, after a year away from the pitch. A formidable force in the back row, but equally proving that forwards are not fancy ball handlers by trade, when he fumbled a sitter and probably lost us the game ? (we love you JP). We won't mention the try or the numerous meters he gained, he'll get an awfully big head if we thought he was any good!
Stand out performances from our Mighty back line. Reuben, Ollie and George linked up nicely, presenting some great opportunities and some fancypants back stuff that I don't really understand, let alone try to replicate. Well done boys.
Man of the match... was Conner for an outstanding collection of points, despite the superman tactics employed to avoid the tackle.
Well done to George for taking the hit in the bar for Conner, agreeing to nail his winners pint. He kindly took Colchester's pre-loaded tequila, port, cider mix, to make sure the visiting team were comfortable. You're not on my boat race team, you lightweight!
