Heading the bill is the return of Level 6 rugby for the 1st XV on Saturday as we open our Regional 2 Anglia league campaign at home to Eton Manor. The players and coaches have been working hard during a long hot pre-season training programme and are ready to put the practice to the test in league action after 3 useful preseason warm up games in August.

Having gained promotion from Level 7 last year after a hugely successful campaign, this season will see a step up in quality of opponents, with several well established clubs to reacquaint ourselves with throughout the months ahead. Eton Manor will provide a good benchmark for the quality of the league and Jim Clark's squad will have to be on their game to get off to a successful start. A strong crowd can play their part, and you are all invited to come down to HDL to cheer on the lads and enjoy a warm welcome at the club. Kick off is 3pm with the clubhouse open from midday.

The Magpies start their league campaign next week at home, with the 3rds and the Tankards getting underway in their respective leagues the following week.

Therefore this Friday we welcome Hadleigh for a preseason match under lights where players will be getting prepared for the challenges that await. Again the clubhouse and bar will be open and supporters are very welcome to come and enjoy the evening at the club. Kick off is 7pm, bar open from 6.30pm.

We can't wait to welcome the youth and junior players back to the club on Sunday morning, with boys and girls from Under 6 (Year 1) all the way through to Under 18s back training at the club. Start times are as follows:

Mixed Under 6 (school year 1) through to Under 11 (year 6) - 9.30am
Boys Under 12s (year 7) - 9.00am
Boys Under 13s (year 8) & Under 15s - 9.30am
Girls Under 12s (year 7), 14s (years 8&9) 16s (years 10-11) & 18s (years 12-13) - 11.15am
Boys Under 14s (year 9) & 16s (year 11) - 11.15am
Colts (boys U18s, years 12-13) - 10am
