After a nailing biting penalty shootout against Durham on Sunday, the Eastern Counties women are set to further entertain us in the Gill Burns County Championship against Hampshire on Sunday. A replay of last years final, where we hope that EC can take the trophy for a second year running.

The road to the final has seen 4 of our Ipswich Scorpions appearing on the EC team sheet - Lauren Howard, Bella Inglis, Ellie Isaac and Madison Strauss.

Each of the scorpions has shown a great deal of skill and determination and EC have battled their way to the final, their results in the tournament so far have been:

Semi final vs Durham – 19-19 (won on sudden death penalty kicks)

vs Hertfordshire – 43-24
vs East Midlands – 5-29

Well done to Lauren Howard and Madison Strauss on making the final squad. Bella will be missing from the team sheet due to being posted to Germany for 2 months.

The star kicker from last week scoring a 40m penalty to secure the teams final, Ellie Isaac, will also be missing due to her wedding. Congratulations to Ellie and Harry from everyone at Ipswich Scorpions and Ipswich Rugby Club.

The final is taking place at Ealing Trailfinders RFC (W13 0DD) at 1pm, this Sunday. Entry is free.
