Ipswich Rugby club would like to take the chance to congratulate Nikki Holley who has been approached to assist with the coaching of the Saints Under 16 DPD squad. This is a huge honor and great recognition for all his hard work. This will assist in his development as a coach and we look forward to seeing a few of these new skills shown off at HDL over the coming season.
Nikki is one of our home-grown coaches and is currently applying that with the Under 14’s which he has coached at Ipswich since they were first starting out at the club. Taking them to an unbeaten season in 2017/2018. Winning the Richard Young youth team of the season award. Which I know meant a huge amount to Nikki being great friends with the late Youngy. I'm sure he has his eyes set on it again in the not to distant future.
He spent several years playing for the Magpies and captaining them. He even claims to have been the top try scorer one year with 14 tries. Having played in that team with him I know someone else did all the hard work and he was just in the right place to take the off load and claim the glory. He will tell you all that’s about him being smart and maybe that’s true, but he hung up his boots before Clive Woodard could call him up into the 2003 world cup squad.
Anyway, enough of all that well-done Nikki keep up the great work and we look forward to keeping an eye on your progression.
All the best
