Today’s fixture took us to the historic market town of Bury St. Edmunds rugby club. The weather was in everyone’s advantage, damp with slight rain forecast and moderate wind.

Today’s line up had an almost full complement of The Mini Mighty U12's IRFC with an equally impressive turn out of Ipswich supporters.
The fear of either rain (fake tans run in rain) or the Mini Mighty U12’S saw Colchester calling off, so we initially were met with a match down from the off.

1st Match saw the team taking on the elusive Woodbridge RFC resulting in a final result of a 4 – 3 defeat to the Mini Mighty U12’S.
2nd Match saw the boys taking on Stowmarket with an impressive score of 8 – 0 to IRFC U12’S.

3rd Match saw the boys showing true sportsmanship and displaying some of the true values within rugby as our next match was against Newmarket. They unfortunately were light of players. Well done to the team for stepping up and effectively putting on an opposition shirt and playing against your team mates. Needles to say this was another IRFC victory.

4th unlisted Match. At the sound of the whistle head coach Robin Patchett managed to throw together an ad hoc match with Norwich. I am reliably informed that this again was a Mini Mighty U12’S victory of 4 – 2 to IRFC U12’S.

Today’s festival was chalk and cheese in comparison to the Woodbridge festival with to many individual moments of excellence to name each player. There was outstanding plays from players showing thought and understanding of the game situation. The passing was at the most accurate and targeting the correct player. Tackling was an improvement from Woodbridge festival but we still need to make our tackling lower.

Another fantastic effort from all players and an asset to the IRFC.
