Ipswich decided to take the kickoff and play against the wind in the first half.
With some good possession in difficult windy conditions, Ipswich tested the opposition straight from the get go, only to concede a penalty on our 22 with the visitors opening the score 0-3.
From the restart Ipswich piled on the pressure for a sustained period in attack, A scrum centre field saw clean ball go out to the backs to Chris Kolapo who handed off the full-back to go round and score Ipswich opening try, which was converted by Elliot Siddle to take the score to 7-3.
The wind was playing a big part for both teams with lots of mistakes and drop balls. Ipswich made the most of those mistakes and capitalised finishing with a second try of the half from Tim Mann, which saw Ipswich finish the testing half well with a 12 - 3 lead.
With the wind at our backs Ipswich used the conditions well, kicking for territory and pressuring the opposition's line out. Ipswich's line out was going well, the forwards driving the ball up field to allow the backs to run at Wanstead.
Ipswich started to dominate position, but often the final ball was not going to hand compounding the small mistakes. However the relentless pressure on Wanstead had to give, captain Corey Button scoring following some good phase play and a line break, the try converted by Elliot Siddle 17-3.
As hard as they tried Wanstead could not break down a resilient Ipswich defence who were pleased not to concede a try during the 80 minutes. Ipswich finished the Game dominantly, scoring a further converted try scored by Chris Kolapo, with a penalty kicked by Elliot Siddle, taking the final score to 29 -3.
