Ipswich 5 - 17 Rochford HSaturday 9th February 2008 This was a match that emphasised the problems Ipswich have had all season with the Visitors being able All credit to the Ipswich pack who lost skipper and number eight Geoff Searle after only three minutes with a torn hamstring had their opponents under pressure but as they were unable to succeed in crossing the try line it was a stalemate'. The second half again saw Ipswich with at least 50% territorial advantage but no scoring opportunities until the last minute of the game when at last a pick up from the base of a ruck saw the scrum half make ground and dive over near the posts. This was a consolation try with Rochford having scored three times one of which was from the Rochford 22 metre line. The Rochford kicker converted twice which sadly from in front the Ipswich stand in skipper did not leaving the result at 5 pts - 17 pts. This leaves Ipswich still second from bottom and next Saturday travel to Saffron Walden who although they were soundly beaten at Norwich will be a tough proposition.
