Ipswich cut loose against Campion and show excellent skills, team work and discipline. From the kick off Ipswich were given a penalty when Alex Primmer catching the first kick of the game was felled when still in the air. Ipswich used the kick to gain ground advantage and after being camped inside the Campion 22 for the first 5 minutes of the game when captain Fraser Pratt gathered the ball from the base of the scrum, broke through the defense line before passing to support runner Cristoffel Blom to score in the R/H corner. Running down the slope Ipswich continued to gain moment when from a scrum just outside the Ipswich 22 picked up and broke the Campion defence line again, this time offloading to fullback Danny Jillions at pace to run 40 meters before switching the ball to the opposite wing for Mike Ward to run in the try. Peter LeMarquand missed the conversion. (0-10).
15 minutes into the game the Campion No4 was sent to the sin bin for blatant punching, Ipswich seized the opportunity by running at the stretched Campion defense line, Cristoffel Blom broke through with some fierce running before passing to prop Ben Louisson to run in under the posts. Peter Lemarquand converted for the extra 2 points. (0-17).
Within 2 minutes of the restart Ipswich won a lineout just inside the Campion half, the ball was passed and gathered by Fraser Pratt who darted through the field at pace leaving the Campion defense in disarray to score under the posts. Peter LeMarquand converted. ((0-24).
The pace of the game obviously had to slow and it wasn't until the 37 minute when Ipswich prop Aretaseta Toalima broke the defence line pushing off two tackles to score under the posts. Peter LeMarquand kicked the easy conversion. (0-31) HALFTIME.
It took 20 minutes before Ipswich got back into scoring, running up the slope when centre Jayden Scott sidestepped two tacklers before passing out wide to Ipswich winger Riki Sila to run in on the left wing to score the try. Peter LeMarquand kicked the conversion. (0-38).
Within 10 minutes a virtually identical try was scored in the left corner, when Riki Sila got his second by again supporting Jayden Scott breaking through the defence.
Peter LeMarquand narrowly missed the conversion. (0-43).
With only a few minutes left Danny Jillions showing his phenomenal pace by charging with ball in hand from the Ipswich 22 making 45 metres before passing to the supporting backs before Jayden Scott finished the move sidestepping his way over the line. Again Peter LeMarquand Converted to bring the visitors score to 50. (0-50).
On the stroke of fulltime Ipswich turned over ruck ball allowing forwards and backs to link on a last charge to the Campion try line it was inevitable when Ipswich prop Ben Louisson with ball in hand and acres of space around him to cross the line for his second try of the game. Peter LeMarquand missed the conversion. (0-55).
